北京时间2021年7月4日14时57分，经过约7小时的出舱活动，神舟十二号航天员乘组密切协同，圆满完成出舱活动期间全部既定任务，航天员刘伯明、汤洪波安全返回天和核心舱，标志着我国空间站阶段航天员首次出舱活动取得圆满成功。
Chinese astronauts have completed extravehicular activities (EVAs) and returned to the space station core module Tianhe, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) on Sunday.
The first EVAs during the construction of the country's space station were a complete success, the CMSA declared.
出舱活动，又被称作太空行走（spacewalk），是指航天员或宇航员离开载人航天器乘员舱，只身进入太空的活动。由于太空环境恶劣，航天员要面临失重、低气压和气温不稳定以及强辐射等诸多挑战。
7月4日8时11分，航天员刘伯明成功开启天和核心舱节点舱出舱舱门。截至11时02分，刘伯明、汤洪波身着中国自主研制的新一代“飞天”舱外航天服，已先后从天和核心舱节点舱成功出舱，并已完成在机械臂上安装脚限位器和舱外工作台等工作。

After hours of preparations early Sunday morning, Liu Boming floated out of the module, named Tianhe, or Harmony of Heavens, at 8:11 am to begin the challenging spacewalk as the module orbited Earth at an altitude of about 390 kilometers. Tang Hongbo stayed in the air lock to assist Liu and then also emerged from the spacecraft at 11:02 am.
出舱的两名航天员，一人（刘伯明）要为机械臂安装上臂支架，包括脚限位器、工具台等，随后借助机械臂进行移动。另一名航天员（汤洪波）借助舱壁上安装的扶手，爬行一段距离到作业点进行辅助工作，其间还要进行一次应急返回验证。
Wearing the nation's new-generation extravehicular suit, the pair conducted several sophisticated maneuvers such as testing a large robotic arm, installing equipment outside the spacecraft and adjusting the external panoramic camera.
During the spacewalk, Liu stood on, and moved with the robotic arm for hours. Tang, in addition to assisting Liu and fulfilling his own assignments, also practiced the procedures for an emergency return into Tianhe.
在任务中，航天员身上穿着的我国自主研制的“飞天”舱外航天服在太空中格外醒目。120公斤重的舱外航天服，是航天员执行出舱活动的铠甲。它像一个人形飞船，充上一定的压力后，可保护航天员的生命安全，抵御外太空的高低温、强辐射等。

During the spacewalk, Nie Haisheng, the mission commander, remained inside the module to instruct his peers on their tasks and monitor related equipment.
进舱前，航天员刘伯明说：“感谢所有参研参试的科研人员，感谢全国人民的大力支持，后续我们还会继续出舱，还会飞得更高，空间站还会建得更大。”

At the end of the seven-hour operation, Liu turned his head toward an external camera, waved his hand and said: "We want to thank all people in our science and technology communities involved in the spacewalk. We are also grateful for the great support of the Chinese people. Next, we will conduct another spacewalk. We will fly higher while the space station will become bigger."
其实13年前，中国航天员就已经出征过一次太空，刘伯明就在其中。2008年，神舟七号成功发射，当时航天员的主要任务是验证太空出舱行走。2008年9月27日下午，在刘伯明和景海鹏的协助和配合下，翟志刚顺利出舱，成功实现中国首次太空行走。
Before Sunday, Chinese astronauts had conducted only one other spacewalk－by Liu and Zhai Zhigang during the three-day Shenzhou VII mission in September 2008. Another crew member in that mission－Jing Haipeng－remained in their spacecraft to control and monitor equipment.
这一次是继2008年神舟七号载人飞行任务后，中国航天员再次实施的空间出舱活动，也是空间站阶段中国航天员的首次空间出舱活动。
This was the second time that Chinese astronauts have performed EVAs after the Shenzhou-7 mission in 2008.
此次出舱活动，天地间大力协同、舱内外密切配合，圆满完成了舱外活动相关设备组装、全景相机抬升等任务，首次检验了我国新一代舱外航天服的功能性能，首次检验了航天员与机械臂协同工作的能力及出舱活动相关支持设备的可靠性与安全性，为空间站后续出舱活动的顺利实施奠定了重要基础。
The scheduled tasks of the EVAs, including equipment installation and panoramic camera lifting, were accomplished with close coordination between space and the ground, as well as between the astronauts inside and outside of the spacecraft.
The EVAs tested the performance and function of the new-generation homemade extravehicular mobility units and the coordination between the astronauts and the mechanical arm, as well as the reliability and safety of related EVA supporting equipment.
This has laid an important foundation for subsequent EVAs for the space station construction, said the CMSA.
神舟十二号航天员乘组自6月17日进驻天和核心舱以来，按计划开展了各项工作，目前3名航天员状态良好，后续在轨飞行期间还将进行一次出舱活动。
The three astronauts on board the Shenzhou-12 spaceship were sent into space and entered Tianhe on June 17 and have since carried out a number of tasks as planned.
Currently, they are in good health and will perform EVAs for a second time during their stay in orbit, the CMSA said.
