6月7日，全国高考拉开帷幕。当天一大早，云南丽江华坪女子高级中学校长张桂梅护送高三学生参加高考，这也是她坚持送考、陪考的第12年。

据新华社报道，当天清晨，张桂梅和往常一样，在学生们还熟睡时，就提前来到教学楼，为学生打开楼道的灯。
学生们来到教室后，张老师反复提醒她们，带好考试用品，陪伴她们高考前的晨读。

尽管严重的风湿让张桂梅疼痛难忍，但她还是坚持亲自送学生进考场，并一直在考场外守候着姑娘们。

据央视新闻报道，当天下午张桂梅在考场外等候考生时，匆匆解决了晚饭。当镜头滑过她的餐盒时，眼前的一幕让人心酸：饭盒里只有一份腐乳和一份炒米饭。

自2011年第一届学生参加高考以来，华坪女高已有近2000名学生考入大学。
“一个女孩受教育，可以改变三代人”让偏远山区的姑娘们走出大山、考上大学，是张桂梅坚守了多年的梦想。
June 7 was the first day of the college entrance exam in China, known as the "gaokao". Principal Zhang Guimei started her day by escorting her students to their exam sites. She has been escorting students to their exams since 2011. Zhang, 64, founded Huaping Girls' High School in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, in 2008. The program is free for girls. Since 2008, she has changed the lives of nearly 2,000 girls by shepherding them to acceptance at universities nationwide.
已经毕业的华坪女高学生杨晶晶便是其中一位走出大山，考上大学的女孩。她曾在张校长的护送下参加了2015年的高考，顺利考上了大学，想起和张妈妈曾经的点滴往事，她还是会止不住地落泪，充满感激。

央视新闻报道称，杨晶晶表示，在学校里，张桂梅有个外号叫“张七喊”，这是因为一天中的七个重要时刻：起床、洗漱、唱歌、吃饭、午休、睡觉、晚安，张桂梅和那支她几乎不离手的小喇叭，都陪伴着学生们。
每年高考，张桂梅都会亲自送学生到考场。进入考场前，她的声音又通过小喇叭传来：“姑娘们别怕，我在外面等你们！”杨晶晶说：“有她在外面，我们就觉得很安心。”

Zhang, with her signature loudspeaker in hand, punctually organized students to go through all seven school routines, earning the nickname "Zhang Qihan", or "Zhang who calls seven times".
The seven routines are: getting up, tidying up, singing, having meal, taking afternoon nap, sleeping and bedtime," said Yang Jingjing, an alumna of the school.
During every year's national college entrance exam, or gaokao, Zhang would also personally escort participants to the exam site.
"Don't be afraid girls, I will be waiting outside for you all," Zhang said.
"With her waiting outside, all of us felt very safe and secure," Yang said, recalling the time she took the exam.
杨晶晶回忆称，高二下学期，她突然接到了母亲去世的消息，得知情况后张桂梅没有多说什么，只是让杨晶晶和自己住在一起。
有一天夜里，杨晶晶偷偷哭了，听到哭声的张桂梅说：“其他的事情我都会解决，你就安心读你的书，没有了妈妈，我给你当妈，我供你读书，放心。”

Zhang's motherly love has touched the hearts of many students, including Yang, whose mother passed away during the second semester of her junior year.
After hearing the news, Zhang brought Yang into her home and cared for the grieving girl.
"I will handle everything else, so you can study," Zhang said.
"Even though your mother passed away, I will treat you like my daughter. I will support you going to school, so do not worry."
那段时间，张桂梅每天都把自己的酸奶分给杨晶晶：“她会悄悄地把酸奶从后门递进来，然后自己又悄悄地走了。”
杨晶晶说，张桂梅给她的关爱，已经超越了一名老师：“妈妈给我的，张老师给我了，妈妈给不了我的，张老师也给我了。”
杨晶晶于2015年考上云南农业大学，毕业后成为了一名光荣的警察。
