11月10日上午，国台办举行例行新闻发布会，发言人朱凤莲就近期热点话题进行回应。有记者提问时提及一首大陆网友传唱的网络歌曲《2035去台湾》，歌词说要搭动车去看台湾好风光。
对此，国台办发言人朱凤莲回应称，这是一首新歌，“我以前听过一首网络歌曲《坐上高铁去台北》，这两首歌应该是有异曲同工之处。我想，这实际上反映了两岸民众对实现京台高铁从福建到台北这么一个远景规划的美好愿望。希望两岸应通尽通，更方便地往来交流，多看两岸美景，多品两岸美食。我相信，这个愿望是一定会实现的”。

As a response to a song dubbed "Go to Taiwan in 2035" which recently went viral, Zhu Fenglian, the spokesperson of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said along with another song "Take High-speed Railway to Taiwan" she heard previously, they reflect the good wishes of people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits to realize the vision of the high-speed railway from Fujian to Taipei. "I hope that the two sides of the Taiwan Straits will enjoy more convenient exchanges and enjoy more beautiful scenery and delicious food. I believe that this wish will certainly come true," said Zhu.

在2011年3月发布的《十二五规划纲要》中，福州至台北段在“国家快速铁路网”和“国家高速公路网”中均显示为“规划研究路段”。
到了2017年2月，《“十三五”现代综合交通运输体系发展规划》提出的“十横十纵”综合运输通道布局出炉。台北被规划到北京至港澳台运输通道。起自北京，经衡水、菏泽、商丘、九江、南昌、赣州、深圳，至香港（澳门）；支线经合肥、黄山、福州，至台北。
