7月30日召开的中共中央政治局会议提出，要统筹有序做好碳达峰、碳中和工作，力争2030年前实现碳达峰、2060年前实现碳中和。会议提出各地应根据当地情况发展新能源项目。低碳和清洁能源产业应引领新发展。
China is strengthening its efforts to bring its total greenhouse gas emissions to a peak before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. On July 30, a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee called for a national action plan to achieve its carbon peak and neutrality goals. In the meeting it was said that areas should develop new energy projects based on their local conditions. Low-carbon and clean industries should lead the way in new developments.
“减碳”是指减少二氧化碳气体的排放，也叫“碳减排”。Reduction是reduce的名词形式，cost reduction(成本削减)。其近义词有cut，decrease等。
