Later Tuesday, Trump's physician released a statement saying that the president hadn't had a stroke or a mini-stroke and that he hadn't experienced "any acute cardiovascular emergencies."

Questions of Trump's health have once again arisen this week, prompted by a new book from New York Times correspondent Michael Schmidt that reports Vice President Mike Pence was put on standby after the president’s unexpected trip to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last year.

But, as Schmidt noted in response to Trump’s Tuesday morning tweet: “Book says nothing about mini-strokes.” The specific assertion that Trump had "mini-strokes" has not been verified or independently reported by reputable news outlets.It was unclear who the president was blaming for spreading the unsubstantiated claim about his health.
