To maintain this priority, China has further strengthened security measures at schools. Recently, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced that it will take urgent action to comprehensively enhance security in primary schools, middle schools and kindergartens nationwide.

According to Xinhua, this move comes in the wake of a stabbing incident at a kindergarten on April 28 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Two children were killed and 16 others injured in a knife attack.

In recent years, a number of violent incidents in schools have drawn more attention to campus security.
