疫情的到来打破了我们原本平静的生活，但是也让我们见证了责任和担当。对于上海海洋大学水产与生命学院的青年教师黄林彬来说，本轮疫情以来，喂饱实验室的每个活物就是每天工作的大事！
斑马鱼、金鱼、小丑鱼、青田田鱼…… 在他看来，这些鱼一方面是教师们多年来科研成果的载体，没有它们研究就无法继续，另一方面，这些鱼也关乎到很多研究生的毕业实验，这其中任何一个差错，都可能耽误学生毕业。他笑侃自己总是“在喂养和去喂养的路上”。

据他介绍，作为学生宿舍片区（第一小区）的外围机动组成员，除了承担运送三餐和保障物资等工作，他和其他几位老师还承担着学院五栋楼内将近50个实验室的喂养工作。
While taking care of students who have been locked down in campus, Huang Linbin, a researcher at the fisheries and life sciences school of Shanghai Ocean University, has also been busy attending to lab-managed aquatic creatures.
The creatures stored in the 50 labs, including fish, shrimp, shellfish and algae, are fundamental to teachers' oceanographic research and student experiments, Huang said.
Huang is one of the seven teachers who have been taking turns to feed these creatures and deliver meals to students.
他略带调侃地表示，“我们的原则是优先处理活着的东西。”老师们按照楼宇划分，组建了每栋楼的喂养群，再细分到每个实验室的群，老师和学生全员参与，每天照片视频沟通，确保每一个细节都不出差错。为了按照大家的不同实验要求进行喂养，老师们耐心地通过视频连线，每个细节都不放过，比如，小颗粒的饲料，要告诉老师们喂几勺，大颗粒的，则要告诉喂多少粒。

"Although we are equipped with biology knowledge, it takes time to get familiar with the creatures. The creatures' owners, most of whom are students, gave us instructions on when and how much to feed through video chats," said Huang.
而其中说起喂养斑马鱼时，就更为复杂了。斑马鱼吃的是卤虫。先要把虫卵从冰箱里拿出来孵化，孵化过程需要24—36小时。之后，再把卤虫拿去喂斑马鱼，根据每缸鱼数量的多少，用吸管吸1—2毫升不等的量喂养。
喂养的对象主要是鱼虾贝藻，而黄老师是学藻类的，他还要负责其他老师实验室的摇藻工作。这是培养生物的基本操作，要通过摇动，让可能沉下去的藻重新悬浮到水中。别小看这个动作，每天必须得摇一次。每天，大瓶15瓶，小瓶50瓶，他都坚持了下来。
除了鱼、虾、藻要喂养，还有一种生物说出来大家可能觉得离谱，黄老师还负责帮研究生态系统的团队喂养一种蚊子——摇蚊（跟平时我们所说的蚊子不同）。老师们每天把酵母冲水，喂给蚊子，感觉很像给孩子喂奶粉一样，每天至少喂一次。养着养着，眼见着摇蚊一天天长大，有的甚至都在喂养容器里飞起来了。

Among the tasks involved is brewing yeast to feed the chironomids, a kind of freshwater insect, every day.
"It's like feeding formula to a baby. It's fulfilling to witness the growth of these chironomids," Huang said.
黄老师说：疫情当下，我们每一个老师都全力以赴。我们保障组几名负责喂养的老师里，实验员、专业教师、教授都有，但即使是教授，也一样在兢兢业业地喂鱼、送饭。
现在，我也作为“增援部队”入住学生宿舍片区了。看着周围的战友已经应付自如、淡定无比，我也有点儿“云淡风轻”。他们都好奇，你怎么不紧张？我说，有你们在，我们没问题的。
As many devices within the labs and incubators are still operational during the lockdown, the teachers also have to assist their quarantined students with recording experiment data daily.
"All teachers have actively responded to the call to support the school in the fight against COVID-19. No one has any complaints. I'm impressed by the solidarity and dedication of the faculty in these challenging times," he added.
