Chinese tax authorities have started investigations into tax evasion practices in the country’s film and television industry. Any illegal activities uncovered will be punished in line with the law, the State Administration of Taxation said in a statement released last Sunday.
The move is in response to recent heated online discussions that Chinese actress Fan Bingbing may have evaded paying tax by only reporting a fraction of her total income as stated on a payment contract.
Earlier last week, Cui Yongyuan, a famous cultural critic and former CCTV anchor, posted photos on his Weibo account of the contract for a four-day shoot involving Fan.
The remaining part of her income, which is larger than the reported amount, however, was paid through separate privately-signed agreements, allegedly as a way to avoid tax payments, according to the online accusations.
不论是“逃税”，还是“逃票”(fare evasion)，evasion (动词为evade)都是最常用的词。近义词为dodge，如to dodge tax。
Professor Snape is one of the Harry Potter franchise’s most complex characters, so it’s no surprise that Alan Rickman found the portrayal difficult at times.
Mementos of Rickman’s time in the Harry Potter series are set to be auctioned off, including personal letters that shed light on some of his frustrations over playing Snape. Rickman — who died of cancer in 2016 — appeared in the role in all eight of the series films from 2001 to 2011.
One letter is from producer David Heyman, who sent Rickman a thank-you note after 2002’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. “Thank you for making HP2 a success,” it reads. “I know, at times, you are frustrated but please know that you are an integral part of the films. And you are brilliant.”
The Independent obtained a note Rickman wrote while working on the sixth film, 2009’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Titled “Inside Snape’s Head,” it describes the actor’s frustration over how director David Yates approached Snape’s storyline. “It’s as if David Yates has decided that this is not important in the scheme of things i.e. teen audience appeal,” it reads.
Frustrated指“沮丧的、感觉挫败的”。对生活感到“挫败”、“厌世”，可译为feel frustrated以及find life meaningless。
"This is Fighting Robots" is gaining attention again this week due to a video in which Chinese actress Zheng Shuang causes a scene on the show’s set before walking away.
In the video, the star seems outraged over the referee's delay in the countdown. When the referee finally starts counting to 10, his count seems painfully slow.
The actress later said that injustice is something everyone must face, and that we must endure it and move on.
And as it was for the sake of her team, she simply couldn’t let it slide.
